At Shakespeare Street Dental Practice, we are a small, friendly team who pride ourselves on providing a comfortable and relaxed environment for our patients. Although we have a strong local following in Newcastle Upon Tyne, we also welcome patients from further afield, including London and the south east of England, as well as from Canada and Australia. In fact, several of our private patients have been drawn to us after considering and rejecting treatment options in Eastern Europe.
Our principal dentist, Sara Goodman, BDS, qualified at Newcastle Dental School in 1991 and has been in general practice since then. After gaining valuable experience as an associate, Sara took over Shakespeare Street Dental Practice in 2003 and has been dedicated to providing the highest level of care to her patients ever since. Her commitment to Continuous Professional Development ensures that her skills and knowledge are always up to date, and she is qualified to restore dental implants and recently qualified to undertake tooth re-alignment using Inman Aligner.
Our Services
When you come to see us, our friendly dentists will work with you to diagnose and plan your treatment. We offer a range of NHS dental treatments, including crowns, bridges, fillings, root fillings, periodontal (gum) problems, and dentures. We also provide private dental treatments not available on the NHS, including tooth whitening, cosmetic dentistry, restoration of dental implants, flexible dentures, and tooth alignment (Inman Aligner).

Fees
Our fees are competitive and transparent, and we believe in providing our patients with a clear understanding of what they will be charged for each treatment. NHS dentistry fees are fixed across the UK and are based on a banded scale, with the treatment included as follows:
- Band 1: examination, scale and polish, x-rays, study models, prevention, and oral health instruction (fixed at 25.80)
- Band 2: all treatments included in Band 1 plus fillings, root fillings, extractions, and extensive periodontal (gum) treatments (fixed at 70.70)
- Band 3: all treatments included in Bands 1 and 2 plus bridges, crowns, veneers, and dentures (fixed at 306.80)
Private dentistry fees are charged separately for each treatment and are based on the complexity and duration of the procedure. We always provide our patients with a written estimate of their treatment costs before treatment commences, including any cosmetic options if appropriate.
